2974 Reasons To Remember September 11

See this list built by CNN.com.

On September 11th, 2001, I was getting ready for work, shaving, when my wife (now known as #1) came in and said there had been an accident in New York.
I walked into the livingroom to see the TV and on the screen was a building on fire.
I immediately thought it was strange that a plane hit a big building because if the pilot had any sort of control at all, he would avoid crashing there.
Then the second tower was hit.
In NYC, at every new stage of the disaster, hundreds more died while we watched.
Rescue works were running into burning, smoking, faltering buildings.
411 rescue workers including 343 from FDNY died.
I have an uncle who recently retired after a full career with a local fire department. I can tell you that fire fighters really are the type of people who will run into any situation to pull someone out. If there’s a deathtrap, then pulling someone out of it is their job.
Fire fighters are deathtrap wizards.

More than 200 people jumped from the buildings rather than burn alive.
A third plane crashed into the Pentagon.
A fourth plane was brought down in Pennsylvania thanks to the brave actions of passengers and flight crew who didn’t want their plane to be used as a bomb. That plane was headed to Washington, D.C.
Terrorism can never be appeased.
