It has begun.

Hello –

I got these email addresses from the website at [address] .

I realize you did not ask for this email and since I’m trying to buy a for-profit set of radio stations, this could be considered an unsolicited commercial email. I apologize if this has irritated you. Please give me some feedback on this approach.
I’ve been on a mission since 2004. It’s all going to work out — these things always do — but it’s up to me to gather the support required to bring the ends together.

I am trying to raise $200,000 to help a friend buy a small network of three radio stations in central Oklahoma. I want to do this by selling inspirational merchandise, starting with a bumper sticker.

I have pledged to inspire people to ask questions about God and to try to reach those who for some reason deny God because they have some sort of problem with Christianity… I know this idea is foreign, but I don’t believe Jesus desires any credit — He wants to save people from the hell they put themselves through on Earth. As you know, once people start investigating God it’s natural that they’re going to like what Jesus said. Golly, the New Testament is the most awesome collection of ideas, even for a secularist.
It’s not possible for us to complete our mission as quickly operating as a church. Neither my partner nor I have any formal training anyway — it would be irresponsible to proceed that way.
My skills in computer programming, web site application programming, and social media networking lend themselves more to commercial ventures. I have pledged to spend 90% of the profits after taxes on good works.
My partner’s background is in music. He wants to help new musical acts who at least have a positive message, with emphasis on Christian themes. Right now I’m working for his IT Consulting business.
We have many plans, mainly in the web arena, which will make money, but we need a launching pad to promote these musical acts. Dennis is a genius when it comes to promotion and has come up with a way to weave web and video in with material produced for radio.
Right now I just have a sticker design, but this thing will end up on all sorts of merchandise. I would like to give 10% back to the referring church, but I don’t have a way to do that yet because I don’t yet have the capital to print these things myself. Eventually the sales will move to a site of my own design.
If you look into my writings, you’re going to see some controversial stuff. I assure you I am on God’s side.
Please let me know if I’ve irritated you so I can find another way. I’m thinking about sending postcards in the mail, but that, too, takes money.
Bless!!
Joe
