Galileo: Earth flyby animation (December 11-12, 1990)

I think Jupiter and Saturn are pretty and interesting, but no planet in this solar system even comes close to matching the beauty and complexity of Earth.

The video in high quality is hosted here on Facebook.

As Galileo receded from its first flyby of Earth on December 11 and 12, it took images of Earth in six different filters almost every minute over a 25-hour period. This movie is at Galileo’s full resolution with images taken every half-hour.
