I am enjoying a tall glass of Coca Cola.
The most important ingredient in Coke, the magic, is the purified water. Everything goes better with clean water.
Coke is not involved with this project, as far as I know. I bring it up to illustrate a point: You wouldn’t drink contaminated water even if it tasted like Coke.
Water is the magic solvent that makes life on Earth possible. Your oxygen, your nutrients, all travel through your body in water.
1.1 billion human beings do not have access to clean water. Some are drinking the same water that animals bathe in and that human waste settles in.
The cost to purify water is low. The cost of drilling a well is low.
Every year in the United States we waste more money than would be required to help the world drink clean water. It’s a shame. It’s irresponsible.
It’s practically a crime against humanity.
If you Google “Africa water project” you’ll find a number of organizations trying to help. Just $10 from each of us would make a huge difference.
