Movies Tell Stories

I love this movie so much, I have stopped it 37 minutes in to post this blog.

This Steve Zahn guy is awesome.

Of course, I love Jennifer Aniston.

But she’s a corporate art salesperson who wants to build the ultimate soup kitchen with a lodge and a recreation room and job assistance for homeless people?

Ok, so I’m up in the middle of the night, I’m a weird, quirky guy, watching a movie about a weird, quirky guy who is the night manager, for a motel, and I used to live in a motel, and she sells art to motels and I make art, and I’ve been homeless and also think of cool homeless assistance programs.

You know what I think this means!?!?!?!?!

I think it means, I should watch the end of the movie.

**** Ok, so I watched 10 more minutes and it turns out his mother is dying but she likes Sue (Jennifer) and hopes Sue can get him unstuck.  He’s stuck not doing the things he dreams about doing.

Wild.

I was stuck.

Also, I detest that corporate culture thing.

Also, my mother was somewhat cold sometimes, somewhat corporate.

** Ok, watching again.

🙁

I hate it when the mom dies.  I hated it in Bambi.  It sucks when your mom dies.

They’re spreading her ashes.  My mom was cremated.  I didn’t go to the funeral.  My brother had to go through it alone.  I was upstairs sitting at my desk (my office was in the funeral home) and I couldn’t go down to the funeral.  I just couldn’t go.

It was like I was rebelling against her death, I guess.  Like if I didn’t go to the funeral, then it wasn’t official, and my mother wasn’t really dead.

I’m happy to announce that finally catharsis has reached me; 6:10a 6/5/A Six years after my mommy died.

I am numbering the year 10 as A which is hexidecimal for 10.

The years A – F are going to be very important.

** OK..  Stopped the movie again.  You tell me movies don’t includes messages?

Sue (Jennifer) moved to Washington to be with an ex who came to get her “officer and a gentleman style”.  He goes up there to find her and gets work in a family owned Chinese restaurant.

– I went to Washington to get #1
– Chinese!
– Quirky stuck guy (I used to call myself stuck)
– Family business (I worked in a family business when my mom died)

Oh.  I’m just going to watch the movie.

** Stopped it again.

He’s jumping out of a plane.  The instructor: “What I need you to do now is to free your mind so as to have a spiritually fulfilling, religious fuckin’ moment!”

“I know what you’re trying to do.”

“I’m trying to free your mind.”

Folks, you’d be shocked how many messages I find in movies.

Father: “I don’t know, Mike. Things change in life. You’re not the same guy you were before.”

People make movies to put in messages.

I’ve found that God puts in messages, too.

No, don’t call the doctors.

Jennifer Aniston grabbed my attention, I noticed some things and lose hints like Washington and the Chinese guy, then the phrase “free your mind” connects to The Matrix, and I’m thinking… and I’m thinking.. and then a Father tells his Son, “You’re not the same guy you were before.”

The timing of messages is important, too.

I would love to put the whole list of messages in here, but it would basically look like a loony rant (ok, another loony rant).

I love you!
