Deer will sometimes freeze when caught in headlights.
Sometimes people will also freeze in fear.
Sometimes people can get so depressed about what they think is coming, impending doom or whatnot, that they just freeze.
Sometimes people hope for a quicker resolution, even bad, because the waiting isn’t much fun.
Why doesn’t the deer run if it thinks the lights are a predator?
