Holy crap, I’ve written a bunch today. But, I’ve just written it down today… it’s been in my head for seven years. I’ve retold it to myself hundreds and hundreds of times before.
Trying to write it down was literally driving me crazy. Typing it in wouldn’t work because I couldn’t type fast enough. And I found myself going back to make corrections. The story doesn’t pause. And, I couldn’t think with a tape recorder listening to me, either.
So I decided to just let it go. When it came up again in my head, maybe months later, I would tell the story again, fixing parts. Much less stressful that way.
Besides, if I couldn’t remember it, then the reader wouldn’t either.
