More Captain Kirk!

I’m glad that I did some work today. I’m excited that I have the opportunity tomorrow to write a simple application with which my client can start making immediately. I’m really better at short term projects like that. Obviously, the trick for long term projects is to look at the as a series of short term projects, but I’m monkey, not a doctor, Jim.
  • Joe Winett My client mentioned “God given talent,” which causes me to knee jerk about the sin of not using one’s God given talents. I’m not worried about God, but I think the lesson of the forgiveness of sin is primarily to not judge yourself and just move on.

  • Joe Winett If God’s forgiving you, then just move on. Seriously.

  • Joe Winett Oddly, when I’m feeling alright, the air conditioner works. It started working today after I did some work.

  • Joe Winett I’ve injected way too much negativity into the world these last few weeks. I forgive myself, but I’m trying not to do that. Also trying not to blog in my head any longer. There’s nothing more I can learn from myself about myself through it anyway, and I think I’ve been stressing Lilly out.

  • Alan House Joe, I can sympathise, just started back to doing work also. As far as the “God given talent”, I also agree with you. It is a shame to waste gifts and potential that God has given you (people). All trough the Bible it talks about this. And guilt seems to be a human/Christian issue also. Chuck Swindle once said that it’s Undeserved guilt that we suffer from. Forgiveness is just that, once you are forgiven, that’s it, God doesn’t want to hear it again. Move on. Get on with your life. Get in, get out…
  • Alan House Once again you’ve proven we’re clones. Except I’m better looking… And not AS crazy. oh, don’t say crazy..
  • Joe Winett Thanks, Alan. I know you’ve had to deal with some of the same stuff. I REALLY APPRECIATED being able to help you on that project a few months ago. I felt better being able to help out.

  • Joe Winett …been deleting crazy from my blog. It’s going to leave like 20 posts out of 700.

  • Alan House So are you still interested in doing that Cylon/Terminator like project for me? Think of it as several hundred short term projects. Maybe hundred thousand…
  • Alan House I don’t mean crazy – like mental. And you will always be crazy to me hahhahahahh
  • Joe Winett I’m best at little projects. The way a project manager could get the most throughput from me is to just tell me today’s project and not let me worry about tomorrow’s.

  • Alan House your more sane then I am
  • Joe Winett You sure manage it well.
  • Alan House I hide it well and pray a lot.
  • Alan House Everyone has issues and there own demons. I think you’re pretty normal, just fucking brilliant. so that’s abnormal :)
  • Joe Winett I’m not exactly a Christian, but I am down with the 1st Psalm. I think I’ll read that right now. I found it by accident in 2007 in the Bible I’d had since I was 13, but had never read. Was really really upset one day, opened the Book at random and pointed… My finger was right on the first verse.

  • Joe Winett That Bible, a gift, is one of the few things I’ve hung on to through all this.
