No, We Cannot Be Friends

I bet you think this song is about you.  But, it’s not. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wrote a while back that the more someone is themselves, and acts like themselves, the more some people will love them and some people will dislike them.  It’s a fact of nature.

The list of people who want nothing to do with me does grow, seemingly daily, but not really. The list is 99% old, fake friends.

But the list of people who remember me, even like me, definitely tolerate me, grows much more quickly than the list of people who are turned off by me.

To be President, I guess one has to be willing to piss off 40 million people.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Do I regret writing some of the things I’ve written in this blog and in email in the last week?

No.

The mistakes I’ve made on autopilot have ALWAYS turned out to be important — not as lessons, but as pivot points on which my life improved in ways I could not have foreseen nor navigated myself.

Sometimes being yourself can reveal that the people around you are fake, liars, jerks, or heroes, or kindred spirits, or voters, whatever.

The important thing is to be yourself, and okay with yourself, because, at least, you’re always with yourself.

Peace and Love,

50.

This song is about you:

Your mission, although you didn’t know it, was to try to pull me off mine.

But, see, the glass is either half full or not completely empty, so I’ll rewrite that:

Your mission, the one you think you knew, was to offer me a chance to leave my mission.
